Flow rate inlet velocity openfoam
WebJul 4, 2013 · I am doing a transient simulation on a single bifurcating tube. The inlet has time varying volume flow rate (velocity profile at inlet is time varying parabola). At one outlet I want the outgoing volume flow rate to be 0.52 times that of inlet and at the other outlet to be 0.48 times that of inlet at each time step. WebApr 12, 2024 · As the inlet fluid velocity of the suction pipe increases, an upward flow field is formed below the inlet, and the particle begins to fluctuate but does not rise. In this case, the particle is subjected to the fluid drag force and the relative gravity. As shown in Eq. , the particle is in a critical rise state when the two forces are equal.

WebApr 27, 2024 · I am interested in setting a fixed mass flow rate at the inlet boundary that satisfies a certain superficial velocity at the standard conditions (1 atm, 300 K). For example U0=1 m/s. I understand that the mass flow rate in this case should be U*rho0*A. The compressible solver will vary the density and adjust the velocity to keep constant mass ...
WebMay 5, 2024 · For cases where the 2D planar approach is valid, the Reynolds number should be the same in 2D and in 3D with this approach. Imagine the inlet in 3D is a rectangular plane with dimensions 0.1m x 0.1m and the mass flow rate is 1kg/s with a density of 1kg/m³. This yields an average flow velocity of 100m/s. thomas m powersWebIt is easy in OpenFOAM to use time varying inlet velocity condition.
